I want to ask her...can't you just enjoy the movie?

Here, bitch, I'll fix this for you...
"“if Marvel makes Thor 3 before it makes Black Panther, " it will WANT TO MAKE MONEY.

That's what it comes down to, not some nefarious plot to push rape culture (what ever the hell that's supposed to mean these days. It gets more and more bizarre).

And if they made the Black Panther movie, permanent causeheads like these would attack the budget, the story, and anything else they could, trying to compare and contrast to movies starring Evil White Males.

Yeah, it's kind of funny--looking at, in general, what gets attacked and what doesn't--there are two guaranteed ways to earn the ire of the professionally oppressed.

The first, of course, is to be popular. If you attack something everyone knows, you get eyeballs.

The other, and it's far more dangerous, is to *try*, even a little, to please them.

It's kind of weird--I don't think they realize how they've made it so much easier and safer to ignore them than do anything else.

So. Much. Truth.

Apologize and all you do is legitimize their grievance.

If only people would learn this lesson.

...okay, I'm glad I read this, because it's hilarious. Christ.

(So... I'm guessing she doesn't agree with me that Gamora was also the most *boring* character in the whole movie--while everyone else gets to be zany, broken, and awkward, she basically gets to say "No, guys, we have to save the world" a lot. Which is understandable, because anytime you ascribe actual weaknesses of character to a woman (aka the zany brokenness), it's because you're a chauvinist.)

There is one thing I was with her on--I was baffled, once I thought about it, when Drax called Gamora a whore, given how literal he is.

Of course, reading TVTropes on this, it's pointed out that everyone in the prison was calling her a whore. By Drax-logic, that pretty much means she's an actual prostitute. :-D

(I love Drax. He is my favorite ever. I don't really care if his being half-naked the entire movie was objectifying--I can tell you that I was objectifying him. Woo. Dedicated, literal, and strong? Be mine.)

:) I laughed at that.

Ding! Just no winning.

Yep. Also, she was famous for being the right hand of Thanos. I would think a feminist nut of all people would appreciate that women in positions of power often end up with widespread undeserved reputations.

The adopted daughters of a galactic super villain? How is she not going to have a reputation as a sexual toy ( ... )
