Disney copies.. Disney...

This doesn't surprise me a bit, being an animation nrrd grrl, and familiar with the.. um.. issues with the Disney film Robin Hood. But it might amuse some of the rest of you.

Disney: yeeeeeah, they're pretty much tracing themselves

Hee, I love this stuff. I knew about the Jungle Book connection, but I hadn't seen the Snow White association! I see that they didn't include the scenes that they yanked from The Jungle Book and reused in Winnie the Pooh.

*still loves Robin Hood the best, no matter how much animation was traced!*

Most of 'copied' movies were from 'Disney Dark Age' so this isn't surprising at all. I do remember a Disney special where they actually admitted the ballroom dance sequence in Beauty and the Beast was taken from Sleeping Beauty.

Yup, nothing new (and I saw a page with the Beauty and the Beast/Sleeping Beauty segments compared), and nothing really to bash Disney; they didn't trace over the previous movie, they used the same motion studies for a couple of scenes per movie. If there are time and budget constraints (and there certainly were), and since no one really noticed until now to a point that it detracted the movies, why not? I think it'd be much worse if Disney had copied from other studios.
