Zombie Jonah

I don't know why I haven't made like 500 zombie costumes. This took maybe a half an hour to accomplish. It was instantly gratifying and wicked fun, since it's just basically finding ways to destroy clothing (my weapons of choice were scissors, a box cutter, an orbital sander, a patch of dirt/mud in the yard, and homemade fake blood [corn syrup and ( Read more... )

Zombies really are a lot of fun to make... even though they give me the wiggins.

He makes a great zombie! Using normal clothes is great because then there are no scratchy tag/elastic issues. Jeffrey wouldn't wear his Popeye costume because it was itchy. Ugh. And absolutely nothing can go on his head. Makeup.... I wouldn't even consider!

Thanks!

Absolutely! Plus, I know it'll fit him. The pants already had a hole in one knee and the shirt has always been kind of too broad in the neck and shoulders for him, even though he's starting to grow out of the length. It would always fall down his shoulders when he wore it, so I thought I'd just tear it up instead.

There was one year we had this adorable dragon costume, but he's so freakin' tall that the 4T size I got him (he was 3) was still too dang short in the torso. So yeah, piecing something together from regular clothes is always so much better if you can get away with it.

Thanks! My husband did all the decorating. It's funny, that was the second time we did the spiderwebs in two weeks. The wind blew them down a bit too easily.

Hence the layer of black long johns under it all (which incidentally, I purchased for his Batman costume two years ago). I was worried about him being too cold too, but he seemed to do fine.
