Running this time around.

I'm back at it, but I'm going about it in a different way. I won't say what I was doing before was wrong. I needed that as sort of a base to know what was happening when I did different things. But I'm not focused on weight or calories whatsoever this time nor am I focused on distance or time so much. I know those things will come. I don't ( Read more... )

That's great! I don't think I could run 3 miles, bad knees or no!

There was a time, not all that long ago, when 3 miles might as well have been 26.2 for all I could tell. I'm sure at least some of it is mental. I know I've been able to do it in the past, so I'm able to push myself there again. I actually think about you every time my knees start to bother me. ;)

It feels right and that's all that matters, right? :)

Ugh, not looking forward to that part of it, but I know the sooner I get that over with the sooner I can start to enjoy it again. My entire body feels like it functions better when I'm doing yoga.

I don't think I could get motivated to run in 115 degree heat either. :/ Didn't you say you're headed to CO? Take your gear along! :) Do you have anywhere to run indoors in AZ? I know treadmills are death by boredom, but maybe there's an indoor track or something?

Chris had to inspire me to get off my lazy butt this time around. He started running a few days before me.

Go you! Three miles minimum... nice! I can't say I've ever reached that point. I think two and a half might have been my best at top running form. I do need to get back into it again. It sounds like you are doing very good, being able to still start off at three miles! xD

Glad to hear that your ankle gave you no trouble! :)

It hasn't been that long that I could do three miles like this. I got to that point about a year ago when I did my second 5k. Since then, it's been sort of a mind over matter thing. I know I've done it before, so I push myself through it again. Now that I'm back in the groove, it just feels like routine. Once you're to 2.5 miles, it's not much farther to get to three. ;)

Thanks! Me too! :)
