Thoughts on Yellow fever. -Funny?

So, I decided to write my first response at 3:49 A.M (I live in Toronto.), because I just couldn't sleep. It's acutally really annoying. To be unable to sleep, I mean. It's been like this for...about 2 weeks now and it affects my day-life like crazy.

Okay enough with un-related personal drabble!

We had a different kind of funny episode this week and it was really brilliant.
Yes, Dean is always scared about dying again and i think he doesn't fake amnesia but soon, the Hell images will appear clearly in his mind

There were many serious points about this ep--a small town sheriff protected a friend who had murdered an innocent man. A young woman killed herself--why? A brother knew his kindly giant of a brother was murdered, but no one would listen to him, and he hated for many years before letting it go. Dean was under the gun for death and a return to hell, and his hallucinations--Lilith, Demon!Sam, hellhound on his tail--were born of very real fears.

So while we howled at this episode, mostly thanks to Jensen's fabulous comedy turn and Jared's perfection as straight man, this was NOT entirely a funny show, not like "Monster Movie."

This was a sad story about a gentle giant (like Sam?), a suicidal woman (Jessie, like Sam's Jess?), a guilty Sheriff, and a murderer who got his comeuppance (Jessie's husband).

Yeah, you got the point. The entire storyline itself really depressed me a little too. The story of Luther was...so sad.

But the serious elements of the storyline were completely overwhelmed by Jensen's antics in the throes of his disease.

This is one of my favorite top episodes too and Dean was adorable throughout.
I bet there will be some good follow-up episodes stemming from some of things we saw in this one.

First off, nicely put.

Secondly - Dean was clearly, definitely not telling the truth when he told Bobby and Sam that he didn't remember anything really from Hell! I'm convinced. I've been convinced since "Lazarus Rising". There are so many clues along the way in S4 so far - Dean looks in the mirror and sees that red-face/eyes thing, in "In the Beginning..." he has that nightmare with the same red-face/eyes... And then there's just the fact of the matter that Dean has proven in the past to be the type to hide the nasty, painful truths from those he loves in order to protect them (or such is his justification). Sure, in Season 2 his Dad has asked him not to tell Sam - but Dean was also keeping what his Dad had said secret because he again wanted to protect Sam from the weight of it. K, I'm going to stop myself here, because (as you can see) I could rant about this 'Dean in Hell memories' thing for a while!

Oh, and he's also keeping this hell thing buried as a form of self-protection. People suppress and repress for a lot less than having literally been in hell, after all! It's probably way way too painful and terrifying to talk about for him. But the psych-major in me says he must eventually.
