I agree... there's so much love. Like in Outcast - the looks of understanding between the two of them, Rodney's assumption that he'd go back with John, then asking Ronon to go when he couldn't. (you know that's what happened)
I don't have time for something new right now, so I'll let THIS be my placeholder. I wrote this with your very thoughts in mind and how much second nature their love is to them.
Learning how to handle Rodney hadn't come easily to John. When he thinks back on all those times that he called into the labs late at night to prod Rodney into closing down his work and getting some sleep - well, it was usually a disaster. Frustrated, over-tired and usually in need of a proper meal, Rodney was a taut blue touchpaper just waiting for any unfortunate word to be a match

finishing each other's sentences. and then wondering why people smile at them when they do that. cause of course they aren't even aware they're doing sth only old married couples do; not that anyone would dare to point that out since that would only result in some very childish denial shenanigans. oh boys*hugs them* forgot to mention--this is precisely what my grandparents used to do; drove everyone crazy but I always thought they were cool cause it was like their secret language*g* does it show I'm a linguist???*g*
I'm pretty certain there's a picspam for everything out there; this fandom is that crazy-I love it*g* and it has certainly exploited the fact our boys, especially Lt.Col. Hot Pants, are mighty photogenic..*g*
Would you mind if I friend you ? Because I keep finding myself on your journal by way of links from other people, and I like what's happening there, so... ^_^
You don't have to friend back of course, I just want to make my life easier :p
The thing I love about them most is how strong they are. They give each other the freedom to do their jobs, even when it scares them to death. Which is what made this post-Midway snippet pop into my head.
John and Rodney: when love means "I'd let you die if I absolutely had to."
That was one of the things I loved about the finale, actually. That moment where John was like "Sorry, guys, I can't save us this time. We're all going down." And Rodney protested, but ultimately accepted it.

But I know what you mean.

Well said. They do what they have to do no matter how much it hurts.
