Oh, Mel - you don't update as often as I'd like but when you do - you get your point across..... ;-)

Fantastic chapter, as always, lots of canon and OS in there (you know how much I appreciate that!)

Jack's fear that he will soon have to go home to his solitary life was heartbreaking, hopefully shy but strong Ennis will see him through all that.

They will save each other I'm sure - already Ennis doesn't feel the need to take drugs to see him through the loneliness and I think they can both see that they have a purpose in life now they have each other to rely on.

Thanks for sharing Mel, can't wait for more, Hels x

Hey, good to see you back. Nice chapter. Good that Ennis convinced Jack to stay. The boys have found a friend in each other and hopefully when Jack is feeling better, Ennis can convince him again to continue staying. Jack is unknowingly helping Ennis stop using drugs which is good.

That was wonderful. They both have hope, now.

Hi Mel...thanks for updating this wonderful story. I cannot get enough of the loving caring Ennis...and it is extremely satisfying that Ennis finds his life more complete now that he is with Jack..he is the caregiver now..and I sure hope Jack understands and does not get to feeling too much like a charity case, because that is not where Ennis is coming from....the relationship is coming along very nicely...and huzzah for Ennis staying away from the drugs...Jack is his drug now....love and hugs..Michele

I absolutely adore your Ennis. His tenderness and nurturing attentiveness towards a seriously ill Jack is achingly touching...a true childlike caring that Jack has never known in his lonely life. There is a spark, a magical connection, an unexplained trust, that compels Jack to overcome his fears and let his heart lead the way:

[Ennis] answered Jack's intensive stare without a word and then looked around in his bedroom until his gaze fell back onto Jack looking quietly at him, seeing in Ennis' eyes what his heart had understood.

And, Ennis needing no drug induced haze at the end because he never felt so satisfied and contented was just perfect. Thank you so much for continuing this wonderfully deep and moving story about our boys overcoming the darkness of the night through the simple gesture of friendship and compassion. Debra.
