I'm so glad Ennis went back to get Jack. I hope Jack stays.
I love this fic. It's very sad but very real. There are so many people out there living sad quiet lonely lives just like these two and it's heartbreaking. One friend makes all the difference doesn't it?

Yes, it does.
It's so much easier to go through life if you have a partner - even if you still truggle with your past and if you still have moments when you feel lonely and sad - you have someone at your side who cares and that's so very comforting. Ennis and Jack are starting to realize it ;-).
