Well, my God. I felt so much for this Jack before...now? Phew. My poor, poor Jack!! That was a painful read. It REALLY was! All that time, and no one came for him, until Lureen called. No one to care for him. And I hated that Randall. This Jack is so damaged in so many ways! If ever I want two lonely men to get together, it's this Ennis and Jack.

I eagerly await more of this. I worry about this Kenny though....

Yes, I know what you mean. This part was hard to write for me, too and I reached a point where I thought that I might abandon this story because I couldn't stand it anymore...
But Jack and Ennis already met so there's hope... ;-)

I have been waiting for an update to this story and Wow!

His head fell back onto the cushions tiredly and he closed his eyes - drowning in a well known sense of abandonment washing over his body.

You can really make us feel it. Great writing. You really know how to pack a punch.

Great writting Mel and i could really feel the pain and the fear Jack feels that nothing ever again is going to be the same. And i find this line here "“What... will I be able to walk again?“ Jack asked with rough voice and he felt his heartbeat rise fearfully. He had to be able to run again - he simply had to." very sad and it is te why Jack's world and lie has been reduced to living in the confines of his apartment and never going out again, literally and emotionally-his only connection to all this the post-man.I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

There's still a little background story why Jack isn't able to walk because the doctor said that it would be possible for him again.
You will read about that in the next chapter... ;-)
