A/N: This is the expanded novella-length form of the "Valiant" stories. Even if you've read the stories before, there is new material throughout, including brand-new stories/chapters, and the stories have been intercut into as proper a timeline as one can accomplish in the Whoniverse. There are original characters in this. DO NOT BE AFRAID OF ORIGINAL CHARACTERS! Seriously, Mary Sue doesn't live here. I promise.

Italicized lines are actual quotations from "The Sound of Drums" and "Last of the Time Lords."

I tried to use British spelling and usage for all dialogue, but narration retains American spelling and mixes British and American usage because that's how I roll. ;)
