I am seriously considering joining the local hysterical historical society. Not just considering, actually, I sent them an email this afternoon asking for more details.

I feel that this will be of more interest to me than the local writers' group which I joined, very briefly last year and which I quickly decided that I had outgrown almost as soon as ( Read more... )

I can get half price membership if I volunteer the equivalent of one day each month

*Sigh* Too far away for me!

Sounds a lot more useful - I believe 'good on ya!' is the appropriate response?

Aww *hugs* I wish you were closer, we could both join. Hey btw are you going to the Australian Romance Readers Convention in Feb?

I've registered and will be going to Melbourne with my two daughters for the weekend. It's looking like being a fun weekend.

LOL! Not unless there's a Melbourne, Ontario. Not much travel this year--we're putting a window in my office (SUNSHINE!!) instead. With a couple of special-needs cats and a very old, cranky, and arthritic dog, we haven't gone anywhere together for more than a weekend in ages.

Oh well, it was worth asking. :) I hear you on the pets thing. We have two cats and can't get away for much more than a weekend either. We'd love to visit Canada, but it won't be happening until the pets are...well, you know.

They tie you down worse than kids, but I wouldn't exchange them for anything.

Is that the one at a railway town near you? (not your actual town, the one next stop along)

It all sounds so very cool - both the course and the Historical Society thing.

As you may have noticed, I have been getting into the historical thing, too. I was asked to join our local one, and I would like to, but no time with study.

Yes, the one at L________gh ;)

I haven't had a reply to my email yet, but they might actually mail me the info I asked for.

Will keep you posted.

History is fascinating.
