i would want to live in an apartment building, or in a house with many other students living in houses near me.

things that are important to me:
- central location, or ease to get to places not nearby (near a bus stop, subway stop, etc)
- decent neighborhood (which probably comes along with being centrally located, in that there are things to do which are close)
- cost of rent. i am poor.
- condition of rooms, especially kitchen appliances and bathroom stuff.

other stuff, meh. the size doesn't matter, as long as it's in line with how much the rent is. newness...meh, as long as it's in good condition. a yard/porch/balcony/courtyard/etc are definitely pluses, but not necessary. i do laundry maybe twice a month, so i can put up with whatever the situation for that may be without complaining too much. it'd be nice to have a pet, but again, not necessary, i suppose (this coming from someone who is bringing a pet into a place where it is definitely not allowed, heh).

good luck meg!!!!

at first i thought you were asking where i wanted to live when i was small...haha...i'm still young...

ideally a house, a small one with my own bedroom to share with other people (living with other people is key, i cannot live alone)
if not, a decent apartment would do me fine, i can get into looong details about specs but i'll spare you (and i should be working). utilities inculded would be ideal, not a must. even just water would suffice (the engergy crisis is over now that i'm not paying for the electric bill, go figure). if a house, it would be nice that landscaping is taken care of.

location is VERY important. there should be halfway decent parking in the area and he has to be accessible to grocery, in-n-out, movie theater, access to public transit (light rail preferably) a plus. i can handle coin op laundry no problem, even if i have to go to another site.

id love a small house, but seeing as most people my age are poor fucks (;_;) an apartment would be nice. Like a big apartment, with some nice roommates to split the costs. It would be preferd that its near my school or work, or at least near a bus station. I prefer new buildings than old. It just feels cleaner and nicer, I dont know.

I didnt help much. I'm sorry. I'll tell you a joke instead:

KNOCK KNOCK
who's there?
THE SPIN DOCTORS
the spin doctors who?
thats music business for ya.

yeah...

okay, as a young person, where do you/would you want to live?
a house is preferable, but an apartment is otay!

what are the most important aspects to you when choosing a place to live?
in order: rent $ amt., comfort level of 'hood, close to work or where i do my stuff, proximity to cool venues/eateries/shopping/freeway/bank/gas station, and lease flexibility. hope that helps!

you people are awesome. i'm glad there are more like me who would rather live in a house than an apt.

my priorities are location, cost, house, state of inside (clean kitchen + bathroom), whether there's a living room, size of bedroom, and easy laundry.

shiv really likes the idea of a building, but i'm just sick of swiping to get in and waiting for the elevator and having to deal with other people in the elevator and the long, narrow, hotel-like hallways. like, when i come home from an evening out, i want to get to my room as quick as i can. already once this summer i threw up after drinking too much on an empty stomach in the elevator. smooth eh?
