I wondered that too. It's either the dead mutilated animal, the blood/religious imagery, or just that it's bloodier than usual even for a Kaori Yuki manga.
I like to joke that it was for a really gay Jezebel/Cain moment halfway through (you'll know it when you see it), but that was just standard issue Kaori Yuki. It's for the gore.
Hmm...a little over halfway through, and no gay Jizabel/Cain scene yet. Cain declared his love for Riff by listing off household chores, but that's nothing new.
I recall being puzzled by the shrinkwrap, as there was nothing in it worse (or even as bad as) naked pre-pubescent Cain writhing in bed telling Riff that only Riff can touch his scars.
Yeah, I'm...2/3 through? Nothing as bad as before. Maybe its the undead 10-year-old loli who wants to have Cain's babies? (I think Kaori Yuki realized that pedophilia is the only wrong place she didn't go to in Angel Sanctuary...)
