My Girl: through ep 4

May 28, 2007 20:01

So, unlike Goong, I completely get why everyone is so nuts about My Girl.  I'm not sure I'll be as nuts about it as everyone else seems to be, but I like it a lot.  It hasn't taken itself seriously for 2 consecutive seconds yet, which attributes a lot to that and is just pure fun and, with one exception the entire cast-side characters included-are immensely likeable. Yu'rin's cheerful and kindhearted liar personality and Gong-chan's ultra-serious(and sees through her every time) demeanor work quite well together, and I adore the side plot with his aunt and the guy who works for the family.

Jung-woo...I like the character a lot, but...on the one hand, he's such a GUY and not the least bit feminine...but at the same time, he looks like such a girl...and a really pretty one at that...even though the voice is completely male...I know most My Girl fans fangirl him but, as much as I like him, I don't think I can.  Looks like he'll be an inoffensive third party, too, as opposed to an interferer.

But Seo-hyun?  Ugh...so far my opinion of her is what everyone else's seems to be of Kyo-rin in Goong.  Seriously, how many more ways can he say "no" anyway?  It's not like they agreed he'd wait...you know...what with her running off without a word...and then she expects him to go running back to her which she pops up after two years?  Stop whining girl, you dug your own grave.  *stuffs a sock in her mouth*

ETA:  Jung-woo's reaction to Seo-hyun?  Gives him many, many points.  He's all "You hurt my friend.  You are dead to me.  Why are you trying to talk to me? Shoo."  Of course, she immediately goes and whines to Gong-chan about it(Gong-chan, stop feeling sorry for her...I beg you.)
