So, the Empire season finale happened. Not really unpredictable, in that a lot of it was things fans hoped for/theorized about a lot, but still quite a ride.

The purple lipstick was strong this week.

I agree with pretty much everything you said here. Especially #4 :)

The only moments that surprised me from the finale were learning that Lucious isn't dying and Jamal siding with Lucious. I hated both developments.

Edit: Oh, and I'm not sure who turned Lucious in. I believe Agent Carter told one of her people to locate Vernon because he was their star witness against Lucious but I don't know if that means Vernon was the one who turned him in.

I think the Empire writers are sitting there cackling at making everyone root for Jamal all season, and then having him be the chosen son in a way that makes everyone not support him anymore.

I think that was too obvious, though? I mean, it's definitely the strongest possibility, but the show takes so much delight in thinking it's pulled one over on us or done the unexpected at times that I expect it to come up with something else.

Much as I WANT Lucious dead, I didn't actually expect it at this stage. It was just a beautiful eventuality that we were promised...
