But I think a lot of their seeming ridiculously healthy when compared to other houses is that a lot of ASOIAF is Martin trying to deconstruct fantasy types and tropes (with mixed levels of success) and the Starks-as both a group and as individuals-are decontructing the various fantasy Hero and Lady types.
But regardless, most emotionally and physically healthy place to grow up in Westeros!

The increase in dramas post is because I'm kind of burned out on US TV
Not that I'm posting a lot lately, but I feel much the same. Currently there is no US show I'm following (but 3 kdrams), mainly because I started to dislike Sanctuary and was disappointed by the pilot of Falling Skies. And while there are some shows that sound interesting (Chaos for example), it's a general meh.
