So, Bollywood fans, is all 70s Bollywood as cheesy and cracky as Tawaif and Seeta Aur Geeta?

Hema's other awesome bubbly (though not as kickass) famous character was Basanti in the incredibly popular Sholay (1975), where her co-star is the man she ends up marrying in real life. The film and Hema are really good, I love it a lot. (The film is long and kind of meandering in terms of pace but worth it IMO ( ... )

I LOVE SEETA AUR GEETA.

As a nine-year-old, I thought Geeta's snark at Chachi were the HEIGHT of hilarity.

Now I know better but I still love it.

and, er, no, I don't know of any movies like it. I was disappointed when I found out that Bollywood was mostly very different from it.
