Beautiful fanart.
I always think Lydia would make the perfect "Ariel", because shes just so beautiful and fits so much - look-wise. OUAT should have cast her, although JoAnna was cute too :D

Oh, what a nice theme! I don't remember the last time I read a merman story, but there is a lot of Free (the swimming anime) merman art, especially for HaruRin.

I see you're already reading Magnus/Alec. ^^

I can't wait for the TV show! The movie was a breath of fresh air, finally guys flirting for real in an action movie and not just in subtext! I've read the first trilogy after that, just because I wanted to know more about these two. <3 And also about Jace's past, because it came out of nowhere in the movie and I needed some context.

I liked the movie, mainly because I knew so many of the actors from other things. I plan to watch it again, soon. I've listened to the first two books. It's easier for me to listen to them since I take a 90 minute walk every morning. I'm listening to The Bane Chronicles now, before I start book 3. Magnus is my favorite character (although I love Alec dearly), and his stories are VERY funny.

You've read Cassandra Clare's version of their first kiss, I hope.

The show can't get here fast enough. I had to make a Tumblr account just to satisfy my need for more Malec. :-)

Enjoy! :) It was a really good fic. I really like how the author established their meeting.

I try to slowly get into this pairing.

So many people talk about Malec - I just wonder how much screentime will they actually get together in the show.

They won't actually meet up until episode 4. That's keeping with the books though, so I can't complain as much as I'd like. I read somewhere that Harry (Magnus) filmed most of his scenes with Matt (Alec), as well as with the guy who plays Luke and the gal who plays Clary. I suspect they'll get a decent amount of screen time. There's a subplot being added for Alec that isn't in the books. It could lead to a lot of Malec goodness, probably after a bit of angst.

Cassandra Clare (the book series author) was promised that there would be Malec romance. She said the writers LOVE Malec. Matt said at NY Comic Con that if we're fans of Malec, we'll probably be happy. The actress who plays his sister said we'd be VERY happy.

All that said, they aren't the main characters. They will have screen time, but Jace and Clary will still be the main focus. At least it will be more than what was in the movie. They only had a couple scenes together. Their relationship is much more obvious in book 2.

I guess I'll see how will that go. I'll stay optimistic, since I don't know the source material :) It might help.

I'm just always kind of disappointed when someone appearing in a show gets a lot of attention only to find out later that they're there only for a couple of minutes only.

Merfolk AUs ♥ I think the best one I've ever read was in the X-Files fandom, weridly enough. Probably because it was most unusual one. But also I recently saw this fanart, it's johnlock, but still pretty! :D
