Expect the Unexpected, Epilogue

Thank very, very much to all the kind folks who have stuck with this story, reading and reviewing through all its odd little twists and turns.  It was fun to write, even the heavy parts, and I hope it was as fun to read, in spite of the heavy parts. :D  Now, to go off and consider a piece of total silliness, just for a change of pace and a bit of a ( Read more... )

I really have to say, AGAIN, how much I've loved this fic, to the point of waking up each morning to see if you'd updated it. AND, if you had any idea just how bad it makes me feel to have to drag my butt out of bed at 5 am, to haul myself to an often-thankless and stress-filled job, you'd understand that anything which makes that process a bit easier to take is a very, very Good Thing. But now, I'm disappointed that it's come to an end, that it will be just me and the coffee to make me drag myself to the truck in sub-freezing temperatures each morning before even sun has even begun to grace the eastern sky ( ... )

Oh, my, my, my...! I do know about needing something to help one get out of bed at ungodly hours, so you have my sympathies there, and I'm honored to have been able provide that for a little while. (My poor hubby has your schedule and job these days. I went through that back in college, when for two sold years I had to get up at about the same time to walk a mile to the bus stop to catch a very slow bus that would take nearly two hours to get to the university just in time for me to sit through two hours of one of the most boring but required BFA courses in creation, music theory. To this day, I despise having to get up to an alarm clock. Especially in winter ( ... )

I feel your pain, believe me. My bod's not far behind yours in terms of years and wear and tear; in fact, I might have you outdone in the later dept ( ... )

This story was amazing, all of it. I can't believe I didn't even see Minion's last line coming! I laughed so hard! I seriously loved reading this, but now I'm sad it's over! :D

I'm a little sad, too - and even I didn't see the Minion line coming until I was about halfway through this chapter! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

Wow, I just finally managed to catch up with this story. It was great! Everything from how Megs was always her hero to the present. *gush* And as soon as he said that Minion was putting in a new load of laundry I was hoping for Bernard! XD Well done and thank you.

PINKY! NARF! *SLAIN* Bwahahahaha! ♥

Probably the thing I love most about Megamind is the way he tries SO HARD at everything he does, no matter what it is. Case in point, here he is, new defender of the city, and he's going all out to make amends for his past transgressions, in every way he possibly can. I can absolutely see this being true. I love that he so sincerely wants to compensate Roxanne for all the times he kidnapped her. And that he's richer than Wayne, and came into it all on his own, and yet seems to be completely clueless as to why that's such a Big Deal. (And once again, he receives no public recognition for his CONTRIBUTIONS to society; I'm sure Roxanne'll fix that.)

And the laundry line! Wraps things up nicely. Although I'm very curious as to how Roxanne would react to seeing the real Bernard again, especially this soon after everything's calmed down. XD

Another wonderful ending to another of your wonderful stories. I'm excited to see what new fun you have in store for us next, whatever it may be! ♥

Trying so hard, sometimes TOO hard - that's just part of what makes Megamind Megamind. :D And I'm sure that it won't take very long at all before Roxanne launches a series of news features, giving Metro City as much of the Truth Behind Megamind as he'll let her get away with (with Minion no doubt leaning on him to let her use more than he would've liked!).

Even though I hadn't initially intended to use the Bernard moment (thank you, Dementia!), I've always thought that the only thing that would've kept Bernard from totally freaking out would've been Roxanne's presence. How SHE feels about it... Oh, I imagine she has a lecture for Blue a bit stronger than Minion's admonishment about emptying his pockets! XD

There's always a bittersweet feeling at the end of a story, for both author and reader - though I've started the next. We'll just have to see how it develops....

So I finally got around to reading these last three chapters.

In a word: GUH. <--Or, you know, just a verbal expression, if not an actual word ( ... )

Oh, my, I'm glad you enjoyed this so much! Thank you for a remarkably detailed review!

I understand what you mean about typical fanfic being short and fast and to the point (with the exception of the meandering ones that never seem to GET to the point). I suppose that the reason my style is different is that I didn't start writing with fanfic; I'd been writing original novels for nearly a decade before I even tried my hand at fan fiction. So when I gave up my original stuff because of changes in the publishing industry and started writing fanfic, I just continued in the same ways and merely applied them to different genres. It's easier on my brain, that way. :D

And yes, there will be more coming. Stay tuned!
