There is a lot of potential here. You've also stimulated me to come up with some more:

- The relationship between Metz (at any age) and the servants at the mansion is virtually unexplored. Could possibly include a tension between the older servants who were there before he arrived and a fan who tries to get hired as a maid or something just to be close to him.

- I was just reading about the fraternity hazing scandal at Dartmouth. If we imagine college boy Wayne discovering something like that, I can imagine it having the effect of turning him, in disgust, away from the international ruling class and back toward the random citizens ( ... )

I think I like your last one the most. I can definitely see that happening. I mean in the movie Metro Man's image is EVERYWHERE there is no getting away from it. In my head canon I'm speculating that Metro Man was too idealistic to accept a pay check from Metro City and paid for his living expenses through endorsements and the like ( ... )
