Oh, D-kun. It's still a choice. It's absolutely a choice. You're not the first tamer to be overwhelmed by the responsibility and the fear and you undoubtedly won't be the last. The Digital World is only your responsibility if you want it to be. If you need a break or if you don't think you're up to the challenge next time, we'll understand and no one will judge you harshly for it. And if you choose to stay behind for good, ... then we'll respect that too.

I can't lie and say Tai won't be the smallest bit disappointed to hear this. He was pretty excited to hear that you finally had a partner of your own. It was something personal and important to him that he could finally share with you. ... But I also know Tai values your happiness and safety even more than anything the Digital World could give him. He'd never ever ask you to do something that made you so uncomfortable.

He's more intuitive than most people give him credit for. ... Well, he has his moments of clarity. It would be better to talk to him sooner than later.

I'm sure he only wants you to be happy and comfortable. If you can't go back to the Digital World, then you don't have to. The only other person who has been though what you've been through is Hanako-senpai and I'm sure she'd understand how you feel. The rest of us never had that experience.
