Maxis Taste Dare #32: Makeover of 290 Main Street (Pleasantview)

Jul 30, 2012 21:46

Those of you who follow me on Tumblr have probably seen my makeovers of Pleasantview. Dare #32 was all about making over pre-made community lots, so it fit nicely with my own makeover project. The rules said to keep with the basic theme and feel of the lot, and not change the exterior walls, which I think I've accomplished pretty nicely.

Very nice! Can I ask WCIF the various Simlish posters and paintings? Also, the books and stands? I know I've seen those books somewhere, but I guess at the time they weren't pertinent to my interests. This is why one should DOWNLOAD ALL THE THINGS.

I am in love with the book store. :)

Thank you. :)

Ooh, that's a difficult WCIF, all those posters... I'm not sure I can remember them all! The book stands are by fantasyrogue, and you can find the single, lying down books there as well, which they're repositoried to. The majority of the other books are by leesester at MTS (The bookcases, too, from her Move Over Dahlen set), and some are by Sims2Play.

The big grocery posters are also by fantasyrogue, the coffee paintings are by AroundTheSims, the smaller grocery posters are by alexxschmidt, and I think the posters in the book store are by Simgaroop. But I'm not sure about any of the ones in the games store... I think the SSX ones might be by nichellerj, but that she took them down. I can try looking it up when I get home, but my EAxis recolour folder is a bit unmanageable. Anyway, hope that helps!

The SSX posters are by nichellerj over here. And Anna did the sci-fi posters here. I'm pretty sure the picture of the dance sphere is by Simgaroop, but her site isn't loading for me today. Sorry to hijack. Hope I helped a bit. :)

That is very helpful and saves me some work. Thank you. :) And yeah, the dance sphere poster is indeed by Simgaroop, I overlooked that one. The crocodile one is also by nichellerj.

Tarlia!

This is awesome! I love your decorating style.

A small WCIF: the park benches in front and the bus stop/bench?

Also, I hope you LiveSim again, I love listening and watching you build and decorate.

Say hello to the husband!

Thank you, Liv! How was your honeymoon? :)

The park benches are from this set at WoodForSims (or, y'know, the booty...). Bus stop + bench are here.

I've been wanting to do some livesimming again, and watch some too! It seems like summer made things die down a bit. Perhaps this weekend?

Will say hello to the husband, you say hi to yours, too. :)

This is such a great makeover! It is functional, close to the original, and yet so much prettier. And more fun for the sims! A community lot worth visiting.

Thank you! :) I look forward to bringing some sims there to test it out. The Burbs are in need of jobs, so... :)
