LOLOL That was kinda my intention! I figure he's so maligned at the moment, and a lot of it is because he really hasn't been fleshed out AT ALL. We know next to nothing about what he's really like, and what makes Cuddy stay with him (other than denial about her feelings for House, that is), and I have to say I do love 'blank slate' characters - I can make him whatever I want ( ... )

LOVE THIS. yunioshi December 5 2009, 10:50:39 UTC
Kay I loved, loved, loved this.
Never thought I would be able to enjoy a Lucas POV fic [not that I thought it to be impossible or that I'm closed off to the idea but IMHO for every 1 great nay, decent fanfic writer you have 10 terrible ones. and for every 1 great fanfic writer you have like 50 terrible fanfic writers (sorry if that doesn't make mathematical sense it's 3am, finals week, and i procrastinate like no other.) so the odds are stacked against you].

But i really enjoyed this. like i loved it. I always look forward to your ficsssssssssssss.
*headdesk* *fell asleep, seriously a little though, i did*

Thank you so much! I'm really pleased you liked it; I was nervous about writing Lucas, and I don't know about the style (the no-dialogue thing can be a bit heavy-handed sometimes, and yet I always come back to it...), so I'm psyched that it worked for you!! Squee!

Yeah, I figured many people would be uncertain about some Lucas-POV, but I'm a sucker for a challenge (the more 'out-there' the better, lol), and I also think he could be a great opportunity to explore Cuddy's character, especially all the ways in which she's actually very similar to House which we never really get to see.

Aww, thank you! I'm so pleased you like my rambling writing! And I hope you got some sleep in the time since you commented! ♥

This was just lovely. I really feel that Lucas is maligned a lot of the time. I actually like the guy. I don't know if he's the right "fit" for Cuddy, but I hate how the fandom has treated him. I'm glad that you wrote this -- it gives us some insight into him.

Excellent. How you managed to create sympathy for, what's been written as since S6 (he was almost fine in five :/), a COMPLETE moron, is perfection. Which, when you think about it, you'd assume that sympathy would be built-in because he is so second-best across the board, but making him relatable...'wow, just WOW'. Great insight to possible scenarios ( her secretly crying, etc.) and great filling in the blanks with the made up ones...can't wait for your next piece!!!

Thank you so much! I'll admit it very much was my intention to make Lucas at least a little less one-dimensional; he really hasn't been explored AT ALL on the show thus far, and I'm pretty confident this fact is contributing a lot to all the hate out there for him ( ... )

It's a worthy one and by no means an evil or 'mean spirited raison' ;) But hell yes, you should...fill in the gaps of the next five weeks as it's gonna be a looonnnngggggg hiatus.

Well, it's remarkable really the amount of ...seething hatred? I just feel like the guys already shooting himself in the foot that we need not help while others just hate him cause he IS shooting himself in the foot or that he's even in the position to. More often than not as passionate as I get I find myself being more logical and objective about it all and THEN filtering my emotions through that...it's not rationalization so much as common sense in my book. He can't help that he's not flushed out anymore than Cuddy can help that her decision making as of late as been uh.. questionable by most peoples standards....the whole 'they're not bad they're written that way'...It's not an excuse, nor a defense, it just is... I love this show. I love those characters. I will KEEP loving this show and those characters no matter how many meat grinders they go
