LOLOL That was kinda my intention! I figure he's so maligned at the moment, and a lot of it is because he really hasn't been fleshed out AT ALL. We know next to nothing about what he's really like, and what makes Cuddy stay with him (other than denial about her feelings for House, that is), and I have to say I do love 'blank slate' characters - I can make him whatever I want!

Yep, Isabel is his sister, and I plan to elaborate more on this in future pieces (I know this is a bit vague), but the basic idea is I wanted to give Lucas some 'issue'; like House has his father issues, Wilson has his missing brother issues, and Cuddy has her House issues and goodness knows what else, I wanted to find a way to stick Lucas in there too and give him something angsty a with a little depth. I don't buy that he's just happy-go-lucky all the time, and that he's oblivious to his girlfriend's non-relationship with another man. But, to get back on topic - I haven't figured out how/why yet, but Isabel is dead and Lucas feels guilty, like it was somehow his fault, and he sees Cuddy's issues as a chance to 'save' her (like he couldn't save his sister). I'm not saying that's the only reason he likes her, but I'm playing with the idea that it's motivating him (even on a subconscious level). All the other characters on this show have issues with being heroes/saving people, and Lucas has to fit in there somehow.

Or something. I don't know, I'm making it up as I go! Thank you for reading, I was very nervous about posting this piece! I'll write more about poor hated Lucas soon!
