Casual misogyny has come up a lot lately on a number of journals on my flist, and I thought this was a particularly epic and educational rant on the subject(not for the faint of heart ;) it is quite the rant). I've never been able to work out whether my paranoid mistrust of strangers approaching me comes from the years of bullying I sufered in this life for looking/acting/thinking like a freak, or from the string of lifetimes I lived as a girl.
I'm thinking both. Especially since I looked/acted/thought like a freak then, too. :P

My thought is both as well. Course even those who stay in the mainstream get this kind of crap as well! It's unreal, and I'll never really understand the bullying mentality. Even when I write for bullying characters. :/

I have that problem a lot.
Frankly, there are a lot of mindsets that are simply beyond my grasp. I absolutely abhor trying to write for a character into whose mind I cannot place myself.

Glad to! With the growing popularity of "it's fun/cool to be an asshat" and "anti-PC" movements I think these problems have been getting louder and louder and harder to ignore as background noise.

Yes! I was so glad to that encouraging men to understand and not take it personally was covered in there too. It's all preaching to the choir on my flist I think, but more guys really need to read and understand these things. They really do.
