Friday on my mind.

Oh, I forgot, we finally saw Happy Feet! So cute. It weirded us off a bit that Mumble retained his hatchling plumage for the whole movie, but it helped that he seemed to be losing his fluff by the end. I understand why they did it kinda, but giant babies are just... not right. I can also see why the Rimmers went "OMG OH NOES LIBERAL AGENDA!" as ( Read more... )

I was gonna try and go see happy feet at the University theater this week, but it may have to wait 'til I get to atlanta, depending on how much packing I get done between now and then : (

Awh. :( It's good to see it on DVD too though, all the cute extras like the Steve Albatross bit.

Awesome movie. I loved the vocals, they were amazing. And penguins are adorable.
I also loved the pro-individualist message of the movie.
I would totally pick other. I'm glad it's an option now. It's always felt weird for me ticking the M or F boxes, because neither really fits.

Such a cute flick! :) And yeah, it's awesome that they're making that an option! I'm really impressed that they're being so progressive!

This is COMPLETELY Random... purpleivey April 10 2007, 19:11:10 UTC
...but you'll appreciate it and I don't know many who would, especially without rolling their eyes and going, "oh, Liz"

Ok, so there's this fantasy book series called A Song of Ice and Fire (which I really love) and HBO is making it into a TV show or a miniseries or something (I could make a whole post on my feelings about that but I'll refrain). The point I'm getting at - there is a set of twins who are in the very upper nobilty/royalty, early 30's or thereabouts who are ungodly beautiful. In the book it's important that they actually look a lot like each other. They're both blonde and I was trying to think of who in the world could play them. Then it hit me - Cillian Murphy and Angelina Jolie in blonde wigs. That would be liquid hotness. (especially since they're secretly lovers too. Hot hot hot.) Unfortunately, I doubt they're gonna be able to use anyone as big name as Angelina : ( Cillian I don't know about. I think it's cast, but whoever they pick, this would no doubt be better ; p

Oh, wow! That would be an awesome combination! But yeah, Angie is expensive... but man, I could seriously see them playing beautiful regal twins with issues!

I have just had a stroke of genious - the whole including alternative sexualities on college application form things? Let's use it with assigning roommates. Serriously. I would've loved to have lived with my gay best friend - and the college wouldn;t be able to say "you can't live with each other 'cause you might have sex OMG." No danger of "co-habbing" there ; ) I think it's an awesome idea : D

Also, I loved Happy Feet too - saw it 2 days ago myself. And that whole "liberal agenda" thing? Please. It's pro-being yourself and pro-conservation. If THAT'S extreme liberal agenda, I might as well just go ahead and move to Finland or something.

Also, another thing. I can't stand the race question. especially the whole "anyone who's vaguely of european descent is white/caucasian". Because, honestly, I'm far more "caucasian" than most people, due to my grandfather being Ukrainian and being, literally, from the area near the Caucases Mounatins. hello. So I skip the question when I can. And if it's one I can fill in, I put Celto-slavic, celto-scythian, or something along those lines ; ) If anyone would get it on those surveys, I would make an extremely obscure reference and call myself "Caucasian/Chalk" (the reference being to both Brecht's "The Caucasian Chalk Circle" and the chalk cliffs of Dover)

I agree, it's weird to me that they ask at all really. They just want a general skin tone than actual ethnicity. Technically, people from India are Aryan/Caucasion but that's not the box the application people want them to check. Hehe, obscure specific references make census fun! :D I like it!

EVERYTHING is extreme liberal agenda. :P If you ask someone to stop kicking you in the shin the terrorists win! Such a cute movie, that people called it "evil" is just silly.

That's a good idea on the application thing! So long as you trust people to be honest about it. ;)
