[Book] The Forest of Hands and Teeth, By Carrie Ryan

This has been a stressful couple of weeks for me, so reading a novel that was going to touch on my biggest "NO" button (that would be zombies, for those of you playing at home) was probably not the greatest idea in the world. But I'd started it before I realized what it was, and by that point I figured I'd give it a chance.

Zombies? Are your "no"? OK, you have piqued my interest, can I ask what you mean by that? That you don't buy into zombie stories or that you hate zombies...??? Or you fear them?

*is very curious*

Oh, I'm very much scared of zombies. I've had nightmares about them since before I actually knew what a zombie was. (Those dreams everyone has about being chased? In mine, zombies are everywhere, and I can't run far enough or fast enough to get away and I'm usually so panicked that I'm surprised I don't wake myself up sooner.) Zombie books are sometimes okay, but zombie movies are so out of the question it isn't funny.

Wow, I had no idea! OK, so no inviting you over for a Sean of the Dead screening, good to know.

I have seen "Shaun of the Dead", and it is lower on my "OH HOLY SHIT" scale, but yeah. Ask Bob how much of it I had to watch hiding behind his shoulder. A COMEDY. About zombies. :)

(Craziest zombie almost panic moment ever: At Dragon*Con two years ago, this group came in dressed as characters from Marvel Zombies. One afternoon, I ended up in a very crowded stairwell right next to Zombie Wolverine. I let him in front of me so I didn't have to look at him.)
