Sooo, as some of you know I'm pregnant. This means that I've spent the last 5 months sleeping or throwing up... but I'm jonesing for swordfighting... What do you guys do when you're trying to train but cannot actually get into armour and fight? Mind you that my balance is shot to .... it's just bad at the moment so that slow work is fine, but it ( Read more... )

But have to send them later...essentially, training your mind. Observation, prediction, meditation; learn how to see, what to look for, how to clear your mind for it. Do you have any kind of meditative practices?

Fabulous! I normally do yoga and I do practice meditation. I don't have a name for it since I started doing it while really young. Send any suggestions my way, I'll gladly work with anything I can get. =)

Sweet! I'll have to see how to get a hold of her. Would you happen to have her contact information you might be able to send me through email? Yeah... Jed won't let me take my glaive in during labor.. he said I'm not allowed to use him as a pell during contractions.

There is a lot of fighting video out there. Perhaps you could use this time to watch video and see if you can decypher what happened in the fight, what mistakes were made, missed blocks&blows, and what shots were used.

This kind of mental practice can help you learn to watch what is happening when you fght.

We had a fabulous practice last night and I spent my time watching and helping point out what I was seeing. I just need to go on youtube and see if I can get viewpoints from people's helmets. That would be awesome!

If I'm not shooting, dibbies on holding the baby while you're fighting at GWW.

No reason you shouldn't fight by then, other than total fatigue - and that never stopped anyone, especially an insane fighter. Besides, it will give you that little maniacal edge, "I've been in labor!!! YOU CAN'T HURT ME!!!!!!!!" accompanied by insane laugh... you will decimate the ranks of soft lads.

Love you. PS you DO know that I'm delivering your baby, right? Being Period And All....

Will do. Jed and I were just discussing taking turns taking care of the baby while we're out at war. That way we both get to fight and fulfill our responsibilities. But it would still be awesome to be able to fight along side each other. =D

BTW, you're person number 4 who has asked.=) So far we've told our moms that we're ok and don't need to have anyone videotaping the labor... But we can discuss our options.
