Living away from home for the first time was proving more difficult than Peter thought it would be. He had big dreams of freedom and being an adult, but when it came down to it he missed his bed, he missed home cooking, and he missed getting to see everyone for dinner. Including Nathan.
Fortunately, because he came from money he was able to get an

He pursed his lips, looking over at Peter, "That shirt happened to look nice on you. Next Christmas I'll get you a bib."

"Maybe you can come over next weekend, once you've settled in here more." That sounded reasonable. He could keep his plans open. He just hated that disappointed 'Oh'. "Too much back and forth from one place to another isn't good, you know?"

Once they got to his apartment he helped Nathan carry everything upstairs, and after stacking the boxes neatly with a note telling his roomies not to touch the stuff, they went back down to the cab. "Which burger place should we go to? How about Joe's on West Ave? They make those burgers the size of your head."

Nathan smiled when Peter wrote a note, glad his brother was learning. Following him back down, they got in the cab again, "You really do want to give yourself a stomach ache, don't you," he laughed, giving the cabbie the address to Joe's. "They make a good Bloody Mary there too."

He set his hand on Nathan's leg during the ride to the burger place, eager to touch him.

"Just be careful with that, okay? Don't drink too much at school." He looked down at Peter's hand, feeling self conscious about it being there. He pulled it off, but laced their fingers instead, putting their hands between them, out of sight.

Peter squeezed Nathan's hand and when they got to Joe's, he climbed out first, taking his coat off because it was too warm out for oone.

They walked toward Joe's, Nathan placing a hand on Peter's shoulder, "If you ever do drink too much, though, or get caught up in something, I want you to call me, ok? No matter what happens, or what time it is. I don't want you to be stranded. I wont be mad, ok?"

Peter opened the door for Nathan and followed him in, hit by the smell of burgers and fries. GUH. He was immediately drooling. He didn't waste any time getting them a table and snatching up the menu. "Oh man they still have their double bacon cheeseburger with a side of large fries and cole slaw and a free shake."
More drool!!!

He watched Peter drool over the menu, loving the way his eyes lit up. Lucky for him, that seemed to happen a lot. Peter could get excited about a lot of things. The best was when it was for him, though.
Right. Menu. He looked over it, furrowing his eyebrows, "That's a heart attack waiting to happen. I think I'll just go for the regular cheeseburger. Diet Coke."

"So. How much have you missed me this past week? C'mon, lets hear it."

He smiled at the waitress, watching her ass as she walked away, his attention drawn back to Peter when his foot pressed against his.
"Missed you? Why would I miss you?" He teased, smiling so Peter wouldn't get offended, "It's nice to be able to work without anyone nagging me left and right."

"You used to tell me I was a welcome distraction. Unless you were lying, in which case.....bad boy." What? Had Nathan really expected him not to flirt when they were around each other this much after a week of nothing?
Reply
"I'm kidding, Pete. Of course I missed you. You know I love having you around." He moved his leg closer, "And yeah, you're definitely a welcome distraction. Why do you think I came to see you today? Everything else sucked."

Peter toyed with his silverware, spinning it around on the table. He could be such a sucker for Nathan's compliments, it was ridiculous. In the same light, any time Nathan tore him down it felt like the end of the world.
"Cool."

He smiled, letting his fingers trace down Peter's face for a second before pulling his hand back, "I'm proud of you, you know."
