OMG. I found that NASCAR prompt! I think you're pretty safe in assuming NONE OF US knows anything about racing, so I wouldn't worry too much about the details.
Based on your comment I assume you're going to have Nick as the injured driver and Joe as the widowed physical therapist? I think it will be SO GOOD.
Here's the prompt I chose:
Courting scandal since girlhood, free-spirited Lady Elizabeth Scarlet vows there is just one way to save her childhood friend from a loveless marriage: to kidnap him! But Nathaniel is furious. So angry that he challenges her to take their assignation to its natural conclusion and seduce him.
When her inexperienced attempt flares into intense passion, Lizzie is ruined…and hopelessly, unexpectedly, in love with Nathaniel, the Earl of Waterhouse. Now the wild and willful Lizzie must convince Nat that they are a perfect match-in every way. I LOVE the premise - but the reason I am freaking out is that if I imagine it with Nick as Nathaniel and Joe as Elizabeth then it feels like it might turn out like a

Question for you - when you are writing a fic that EPIC, how do you plan it out? Do you just have a vague idea of how it's going to end, or do you have a whole outline laid out?
There are so many good prompts - I was STUMPED and finally just chose the first one out of four or five that sparked something for me. BUT, like, I was really tempted to choose the GENIE one! Because, c'mon, how PERFECT would Joe Jonas be as a genie?
Or the one where the lady-nurse Joe hires a bodyguard to protect her him when she travels to the wilds of Alaska, only to find that the bodyguard is his estranged brother Nick, who he hasn't seen in years! And now Nick is so big and strong and capable, and they're all alone, sleeping in a tent every night while the wolves howl... OMG SO GOOD.
Once you pick, come back and tell me what you're thinking! I want to know!
I've seriously been AGONIZING over this all weekend. Like, I have little notes on my three final contenders with plot ideas and stuff because I'm trying to figure out which one has the longest legs and won't conk out on me in the middle. Cause I kind of really, really want to do the pirates one. But it's different from the prompt cause my idea was that Joe is a pirate and Nick is in the navy so it's like his DUTY to arrest Joe and he's been trying to catch him for years but Joe always escapes (because Nick accidentally on purpose lets him go) and blah blah they end up marooned on a desert island or something. But I'm worried because I think I'm going to get too hung up on it being a historical and I'll feel like I have to do all this research and it'll just be harder to write

THIS RIGHT HERE is why you write epic, amazing, WONDERFUL fics, and I write stories about Nick jizzing in Joe's face while he's sleeping.
OMG. PIRATES. With this whole enemies with UST thing going on, like Rick and Renault in Casablanca! It would be FANTASTICAL.
The second one also sounds amazing, and HURTY. I think you'd be masterful at this one - as long as you promise a happy ending! But the scenario you've described seems so POSSIBLE and sad, that I know it would come out all angsty and beautiful. OR. IDK, did you see the one where the artist and the art critic are chained together for 30 days? I kind of loved that one too! Less ouchy.
The sons of Satan one sounds more complicated - although this was another one of my prompts - would Joe be trying to WIN, or would he be trying to get both him and Nick to lose and become human?
HAHAHA. That was so hot though! I'm kind of jealous of people who can write porn without all this BACKSTORY.
That chained together one was a close fourth contender. But I had a lot less clear idea of what exactly to do with it. I love the concept insanely much though. It seems like it has great potential for HIJINKS.
Yeah, with the demons thing. Joe is just trying to make them both lose, and Nick thinks he's trying to win because he's NICK so he doesn't understand the concept of not caring about winning. And ultimately Nick would choose Joe. And Kevin would end up the Lord of Hell by default, which would be hilarious because he was going to be the incompetent NICE demon who's just terrible at doing evil deeds and whatnot. (Also Zac Efron was going to be his assistant person who is the mastermind behind him and who tries to save him from his own goodness all the time.) But yeah. I couldn't figure out what the actual TASK was that they would be competing over. And that was a pretty important piece SO.
P.S. I really wouldn't worry about your fic being like Joe Jonas Doesn't Ride the Bus. It's a historical! That will automatically make it completely different.
Hmm. I wasn't going to write it as a historical though. I was thinking of writing it as a non-AU, actually, because I'm particularly awful at AUs. I've only written one AU for real, and that was my J2 big bang, and it... did not go well
( ... )
Oh! haha. Now I get it the dilemma! But dude, that fic is not a sacred cow. It's just another fic. And you write SO WELL. And I actually think it would work kind of amazing with the roles reversed because I feel like Joe is one of those people who doesn't quite know how to be single. So I can totally see him jumping to marriage with some illadvised person just because he's in love with the idea of being in love or whatever. And I can easily see Nick trying to stop him partly because for him girls are a distant fourth to music, career and family. And partly because losing that much of Joe would completely freak him out and turn his whole world upside down. He's so used to taking it for granted that he's Joe's favorite; I think it would make him completely desperate if he was going to lose that. I don't know. It really works for me. I would so read that.
