Are you going to make them brothers? You could always substitute "brother" for "boss". Like maybe one of them was adopted and so they've never met before? Or haven't seen each other since they were really young kids. And they meet out in a bar somewhere exotic - a dark nightclub in Paris or a coffeshop in Amsterdam (or a private VIP room in Vegas haha) and Nick is all confident and cocky (having decided beforehand that he's going to get LAID tonight, dammit!) and he meets Joe and just OWNS him for the night. Maybe it's his first/only time with a guy? UGH, IDK - this is HOT.
But in the clear light of day, faced with the knowledge that he's just fucked his boss (or committed incest, or just fucked a dude, whatever), Nick clams right up, becoming even more uptight and restrained than he was before. And so Joe makes it his MISSION to tempt the wild side out of Nick again and again until Nick just SURRENDERS.
Is that along the lines of what you're thinking? TELL ME.
Very much! Not brothers - I'm sticking with the boss idea.
Still uncertain of top/bottoming situation. Clearly, Joe will have to seduce him into further nights o'passion and harlequin tropes means Joe should therefore be aggressive. But. Love Joe to pieces, that's not really him. He's more, flirty, legs open in tight pants, hair twirling, fluttering lashes, 'NICHOLAS you big stud TAKE ME TO BED or LOSE ME FOREVER!'
UGH. You're right, of course! Joe is such a little VIXEN, isn't he?
With re: the topping/bottoming thing - I don't think it has to be so black and white, but that's just me. And you're spot on - Joe can be aggressive and seductive and still bottom - he just pushes Nick's buttons until Nick SNAPS and TAKES HIM. Mmmmm.
You could always do it BOTH ways - switch-hitting is NEVER a bad thing in my book!
As for the whole brothers-thing, I feel you. I've been reading through the book reviews for the prompt I chose, and, unless I change the story I don't see how I can have Nick and Joe be brothers. Which bums me out, because I think a significant part of why I find that pairing so hot is the sibling dynamic. (UGH, I am a PERV.) I will just have to make it work!
It warms the cold cockles of my heart to see everyone posting about their ideas. ::wipes away a single tear:: I'm SO excited for this challenge. I'm gonna do a small round of pimping to the comms tonight (a "last chance!" type deal) and then choose my own prompt. I'm so excited! I haven't been paying attention to what's left (all the sci-fi prompts are gone! I'm so HAPPY. I LOVE sci-fi!).
I'm thinking I might do a marriage of convenience. Like this: "Always a bridesmaid, never a bride" is a phrase Molly Harrigan knows all too well. After being in countless weddings, she can't believe she's 30 and still single -- even her baby sister is married and pregnant. Molly decides that she shouldn't be denied the excitement and festivity of planning a wedding just because she hasn't found her soul mate. That's where Justin -- an actor Molly hires to play her fiance -- comes in. would be PERFECT for Kevron! I really want to do a Kevron but I also want to try a Joe/Nick.
I'm thinking this: Years ago, wild child Keely Branscom shocked her

That Vegas one is the other one I was THISCLOSE to choosing! Because Joe Jonas would TOTES pose nude, or do something else equally scandalous! Like maybe he'd become a for-real actor and take a part in some Merchant Ivory film where he plays a gay hooker or something, and he has to go full frontal and make out with a DUDE! And Nick Jonas would want to BURN HIS EYEBALLS OUT, because, JEEZ JOE. And the band would break up and Nick would continue being this repressed, buttoned-up little good-boy rocker, and Joe would be all, "It's not NATURAL to be so sexually repressed! You need HELP, little brother

Soooo I totally signed up for the one where dead detective shows up in his old lover's living room and things are all paranoid and he can't remember anything but I've change it around some, ok, a lot It's gonna wind up being really long, I can just TELL just by how the first few pages are so far yes PAGES it's over 1500 words and I JUST STARTED -.-
