You don't even know how much better I feel about myself now that I've gotten a haircut. Of course, I could have done without some of the stylist's attitude: "Um, do you cut your own hair? Because this looks really uneven

The thumb thing made me laugh. I just started going to a guy who gives good head massage, which I'm becoming addicted to. I haven't noticed his thumbs. I've decided that by and large male stylists are less consdecending and less likely to make me feel like a freak. I actually talked about books with my new guy, which is a total first, and he didn't make me feel bad about cutting my hair short. I think I might commit to this one.
