It was almost a kinder, gentler Malcolm! And then he started plotting the overthrow of the shadow government. I mean I understand his reasons, I'm just saying he was being (for him) fluffy until that happened. And then after that he was all...quiet and kind of ashamed of himself.

It felt a bit quiet and like something was missing when I realized all I was getting of the Crew was Malcolm, Nicola, and Olly. But omg Malcolm and Olly. I feel like we're finally tapping into something new and wonderful there. It's like this HORRIBLE MIRRORVERSE FATHER/SON THING OF DOOOOM, I love it.
"The first rule of Breakfast Club is we don't talk about Breakfast Club." I love him so much. (He seems, oddly, to have matured. Not physically.)
"If people fought and died for this, it makes it seem even MORE ridiculously futile." Again, I love him.
I keep thinking to myself that he spent two years being fluffy between seasons and blowing my mind. I mean - Malcolm can be nice for a few seconds when it's absolutely needed, but two years of fluffy Malcolm. What did he do with his evil in that time? No wonder he's so happy to be back scheming, and largely for the hell of it.
I have no idea what Malcolm sees in Ollie (I have no idea what Nicola sees in Ollie either), but I adore the fact that Ollie always ends up mixed in his schemes. In the past I think he needs someone amoral and ambitious enough to run around and do the shit jobs with little question, but someone useless enough to give Malcolm plausible deniability - and Ollie fits that profile exactly. But now he seems to be just including Ollie just because he likes Ollie. It's sweet, in an somewhat evil way (it gets really quite properly sweet because I've gotten the impression from interviews and behind the scenes stuff that Capaldi's been acting as a mentor for Addision since the show began, so that may be feeding into the
