[There's the familiar sound of a small shock from the device, but Meryl makes no comment on it. Instead; ]

That much magic unleashed so suddenly, and without warning - I should hope it was merely an accident! Power of that level should not be played with as though it is a toy. If it came from one of us, perhaps the culprit would be kind enough to ( Read more... )

In my world such outbursts of such darkness come from mazoku. Not just any mazoku, but this sort of power is like the high officers of hells army.

Yes, that sounds just like the Burning Legion - demons and demon-tainted races, spreading from one world to the next like a plague. Their only purpose is to destroy and corrupt. Perhaps we simply know them by different names.

I have plenty of experience fighting them, but the stronger ones are beyond even my power.

That is exactly like the mazoku of my world.

I... I spent my life fighting them. If this situation turns the same, if more innocent people get hurt, I will do the same thing here. I will do what I can to the fullest extent of my abilities to protect everyone and stop such a thing. Regardless of if I have the ability to do it, I will try.

[That's actually nice to hear. Lute sounds more and more like him.]

We do not face them alone, then, Lute.

[C'mon, you've got a 3000 year old zombie mage dad backing you up now.]

It may not be connected to this in any way, but there was a rather odd creature in the park yesterday evening. It had the same feeling too it. [Enough evil energy to make the dragon in his head want to turn and run]

An odd creature? What sort of odd creature?

A mass of what appeared to be corporeal shadows, containing some kind of lightning inside. A blade could not cut it. It was like striking water.

Corporeal shadows...containing lightning?

[Wat.]

That sounds more like a...wayward piece of Nether than a demon....

[Obviously this is a weird situation to consider.]

Was it penetrable at all?

That would be a possibility...and given the right circumstances, there could be no body left behind. - Of course, here the person would be resurrected...

And of course you're right. [Frustrated.] It would make it easier if it were one of us.

Would that be so surprising, Eald'narche? I don't think either of us could be considered normal.

If it was the scientists, I'll have to give them even more of a piece of my mind the next time they speak up.

It's quite similar to infernal power. Like the sort one expect from Makai or Jigoku.

Infernal - that sounds familiar as well. I assume Makai and Jigoku are unsavory creatures?

Places, actually. Makai is the realm of demons and devils, whereas Jigoku is where corrupt souls are damned to upon judgement after death. Both are thick with nefarious energy.

Ah. [Those places do sound unsavory.] I imagine they would be.

The general consensus seems to be that it was demonic, or something similar, then. At least there is no mistaking that.

The Burning Legion?

I believe it to be known by other names throughout the cosmos. A vast army of demons, and their consort races, spreading their malice everywhere they step.
