I fucking love that game so hard. I am excited because soon thewisejustking will visit, and I am sure I will get a chance to play the game with him. And that dude is a master at the game.
At my little get together tonight, we didn't play Settlers though; we played Carcassane instead.
My friends that taught me this game call it The Game, as if there can be only one. I'm partial to the Cities and Knights expansion. If you like German games, Carcassonne has several cool variants some of which come packaged individually: Discovery, The Castle, and (the new one can't remember). I'll also throw "Stone Age" out there. And "War on Terror" if the group is a bit irreverent.
