harassment and safety (and a little but of adventure)

Pittsburgh airport has ramped up the security recently. When coming home from the wedding yesterday, I was singled out and put through an energetics detector, and at least one person on my flight was stopped at the jetbridge for an additional screening by a TSA goon with a wand. Yeah, that walking across the tarmac thing is a neat feeling.
We were able to drive the school bus across it when we went on the field trip. Jet planes taking off not too far from us the entire time. Very cool.

It is neat. I wonder why they call it tarmac. Maybe at one point it was constructed like a tar and chip road surface or something.
