I used to wear a religious medallion, and after that a cross. It was a little silver thing something like this. (bottom center) Not frilly but not clunky. Pittsburgh airport has ramped up the security recently. When coming home from the wedding yesterday, I was singled out and put through an energetics detector, and at least one person on my flight was stopped at the jetbridge for an additional screening by a TSA goon with a wand.
