"You don't see how sex benefits a person? You just said it was a perk." Peter crossed his arms. "It's enjoyable. That's the benefit. Or are you saying that you don't think sex with me would be enjoyable? In which case, why are you offering?"

"I said being gay isn't likely to benefit me," Sylar corrected before snarking, "And you're right. Sex really is only for pleasure. You would know."

"And being straight is? A benefit, that is?" The question was rhetorical anyway, so he continued, "Is that why you want to have sex with me - for a benefit?" He asked it honestly and largely without judgment, trying to figure this out. The picture was starting to come into focus. "What do you want to get out of that?" Peter was not proposing prostitution, nor pretending Sylar was. Maybe this was just another way of talking about what someone wanted in bed? He hoped so. Not that getting in bed with Sylar was part of his mission, but it would be easier to deal with if he understood.

Almost said aloud because, well, Peter asked and he finally understood, didn't he? A quick review of Peter's comments, mostly about being liked, came to mind and shot that hope down. They weren't speaking the same language after all. The answer was right in front of him, then; Peter had been kind (or stupid) enough to give him that much. "...Sex?" he asked/stated like it was obvious. "Pleasure," his voice rumbled, he smriked a little; his demeanor slid into the seductive, though what he really felt was frustration and anger. "Of course there's no benefits other than that." It hurt to say that, hurt to let his stupidly held hopes die, and it ( ... )
