Watching Stephen Colbert this evening was great. I learned about Nothing But Nets, a charity to help buy mosquito nets for children and their families in the developing world. The quote from the site is great:

note to myself, recipe from the fabulous Bohemian Cafe in Ottawa, oh my do I miss that place:
Mad fried chicken
2 2 1/2 to 3 pound chickens,each cut into 8 pieces
1/2 cup tamari
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup dry red wine
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp garlic, minced
1 tsp ginger, minced

Tonight was great fun. My mum and I went to see Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, The Yarn Harlot and she was very funny, discussing the addiction that is knitting and all sorts of other topics. We then went to the Canoe Club and it was eventually fun, but first we had to endure the drunken idiot behind us. Bleh. There were about 25 knitters at the Canoe ( Read more... ) -

It was a weird sort of a work day today. My boss forgot that a co-worker was coming in an hour late, so I was alone in the store for an hour, which was actually ok, but then she also forgot that the same co-worker had to leave for a period later on.
