And by "something especially repellent," I mean to say something so apparently and tautologically ghastly that it's hard to believe people take these cars seriously enough to avoid trying to drive through them as if they didn't occupy physical space, let alone buy them.

I agree, but I also feel kinda bad criticizing people to whom environmentalism is just a status symbol. I myself am too lazy/stingy to even buy a bike and ride it the 1.5 miles to work every day.

I really should do that though.
