On my way to Flash class tonight I stopped by the Subway shop right outside Pike Place Market for some dinner. The clerk began to make my sandwich but then she stopped after cutting the bread and asked me if I had a phone to call the police. She told me the store had just been robbed. However, all that's about to change in less than a month when school's out, Helen goes home, I move in with my grandparents in Silicon Valley, and look for a new job there.
As to whether I'll eventually move back to Taiwan and get some mileage out of the old degree, that's all up in the air. Are you going to China?

I had no idea you were living with Helen - that's so cool! You guys have been together for so long, it's really impressive!
How do you get a job with a start-up? I mean, do they post ads somewhere or do you just get it through someone you know?
In the back of my mind, I keep hoping that all of us will eventually move to China or Taiwan and live together. I'm partial towards China, of course. We could all live in a Hutong - it'd be like dorm life all over again.

I found my job through a Craigslist posting. Start-ups like to hire people with no experience because they're cheap and people with no experience like to work at start-ups because you learn a lot of stuff really fast. Hopefully in my next job I can save up some money to fund another stint in Taiwan (or grad school).
I agree that we should all live together in Asia!

Maybe the fundamental problem with chain stores is that bad karma from one can be taken out on another.
