I used to love the Field Museum when I was a kid. The t-rex skeleton had me mesmerized every time. The planetarium and Museum of Science and Industry are awesome as well, btw, and, as my dad (the diver) says, "Everyone bows and faces east when you mention 'Shedd Aquarium.'"

Side note: I always wonder when watching reruns of Soul Train or Bandstand - was everyone in the 70s just required, by law, to have mad backup dancer skillz? JEEEZ.

I could give you an earful about the millenial thing, I had to write this thing about what it means to be a millenial librarian...yep...

Chicago is nice when it's warm! Try to take a walk through Millenium Park, great public art on the way to the Art Institute which I dug a great deal.

Likewise. I had to do an in-service for fellow faculty on teaching the millenials.....

Sounds like you're having a blast! And I think you're staying in the same hotel we'll be in this fall. How did you travel from the airport to the hotel? By cab or shuttle or...?

This Hyatt is right by the Riverwalk and the Navy Pier. It's pretty nice. I'm about to head out for some walking around.

I was disappointed to discover that you were not in the Soul Train line. I thought it was some thing where they would impose you dancing down the line. Because that would have been freakin' awesome!

Plus, I never knew the O'Jay's were that rockin!

Yes, it would have. And I'm sure someone put me on YouTube already, so it could be done.

Oh yeah, the O'Jays knew how to groove when necessary, and "I Love Music" is among the best examples.
