After keeping a low profile for so long, it had felt strange to Evey to actually go out and buy a nice dress. And put said dress on along with some makeup. But no offense to this Jackie Estacado character, something was strange about this suddenly happening in Gotham. She'd come out of her hiding in the new Shadow Gallery of her making to check this out.
And so, as she sashayed up the block and towards the front of the line, blending in the entire way -- she had one goal only. Find this Jackie Estacado, gather information about his motives, and decide whether he posed a threat to the freedom of the public. Beyond that, Gotham was none of her business and she could return to New York in peace.
She's just got to find someone to point her in the right way. Shouldn't be hard right?
That was until she saw how many people there were milling around.
Upon stepping inside Evey noticed the colour scheme. There were many thick, robust pillars that were a very strong, vibrant red. The carpeting was a deeper red with fibres of gold woven throughout in abstract slashes. The decor was almost akin to a Chinese palace due to the colour scheme. There were no flashing lights or annoying buzzing noises

So it seemed like black had been a good choice, then, considering the overall color scheme. She liked the look of the place - it was elegant, without being trying too hard. If she were one for any sort of clubbing or this type of place, she could see herself here. As it was, looking around had another purpose - she needed to find this Jackie fellow as soon as possible. She wanted out of this spotlight and back to New York quickly

S'all good. Real life and lack of inspiration happens.jackieestacadoNovember 19 2011, 22:46:30 UTC
He thought about the shipment, all the expensive goods strewn about the freeway for anyone to see. That could cause problems for him. He squeezed the dip where his nose met his forehead. He didn't need the headache.
"...er," murmured the waitress. "What would you like me to do Mr. Estacado?"
He'd have to handle this delicately. "Just so we're clear, we're talking about the specialty items right?"
"Yes sir."
"Damn. How bad was the accident? Was anyone hurt?"
"Apparently there was some sort of..." The waitress leaned in and lowered her voice. Jackie listened to the details and then she pulled away. "And then boom."
"Boom?" Jackie repeated.
"Maybe they thought--"
"They could have thought a lot of things. All of them wrong."
There was a certain amount of anxiety that filled Sarah's mind as she looked around the lavish new casino. The discomfort came from the fact that this kind of facility always brought about an internal conflict wherein she battled between the way that these kinds of gambling houses had helped her people in the past, and the way that they tended to harm everyone who wasn't directly involved in the running of such establishments. The gorgeous native woman tried her best to put that aside for the time being though. She wasn't here to congratulate or to condemn.
That's right, Sarah reminded herself. She was here for fun. Fun with a wonderful person that she was having quite a good time with. Such a shame that the weekend was almost over. But this had been an auction date after all and as such couldn't last forever. Sarah made a silent vow though that she would at the very least keep in touch over the phone and internet. And of course if Kate wanted to see her again she would definitely come back to Gotham in a flash

Kate was here for both business and for pleasure. Pleasure was watching people make fools of themselves at yet another Gotham event and being with Sarah. Especially being with Sarah.
Business was checking out the new casino in town, learning the security and layout, and checking out the mysterious entrepreneur, his staff, and clientele. Historically, crime had its hands arms deep in gambling and the Falcones and other mafia families were loath to part with tradition. Instinct and observation told her that it might not be the case with Gold 21, but pessimism and caution clashed with that. Whatever the case, she sure hoped this Estacado figure had his nose clean and knew what he was doing, or she might pay him a professional business later.
But why focus on business too much? Fun. She was here to have fun. She wore in a black dress (for once) and diamonds even! And she was with a beautiful woman.
"Hungry again?" She grinned at Sarah as she spied the woman and where she was headed.
The young woman turned at the sound of Kate's voice, smiling and blushing a bit at her brash behavior. "Well, it has been a few hours since lunch." She commented, trying to justify more to herself than to Kate. She paused, waiting for Kate to catch up to her and feeling silly that she'd rushed on ahead.
While she waited, she scanned the room, taking a look at the variety of people who'd shown up to this. Some of them were quite wealthy and more than a few she recognized from her many many many protests and rallies. Which meant that she had to resist the urge to give several of them a piece of her mind. Practicing her breathing and calming excersies Sarah managed to keep that part of her mind under control. And it was made substantially easier when she spotted a woman in a gold dress not far away and upon getting close to Kate again, gave her a little nudge.
"Hey Kate...look over there" she said under her breath, making a little motion toward Cindy.
Kate chuckled as she came up beside her. She gave Sarah a small, friendly kiss on the cheek before she looked where she indicated. It was hard to be human and not give the woman a once over. The woman did look like a fashion model. It took her a moment to recognize who it was.
"Wow...Oh, wait-- I think I saw her before...Was she at the auction?"
They call me "Bond."agentslipperNovember 14 2011, 08:21:16 UTC
Cindy had spent so much time in Gotham that she knew the city as well as she had the old one by the night the casino opened. And at an oppurtune time.
As the gossip mill at home knew well, Mr. Estacado had been the one to purchase her at the fundraising auction and they were "well-acquainted." Well-acquainted meant in real world terms, acquaitances who had been on one date but Cindy let the gossips speculate. It helped keep her bubbleheaded playgirl cover up, though of course, she would straighten such rumors out if she was asked directly about them. At the moment, they did give her a good albi which was why she sent Jackie an e-mail to let her know she would attend the grand opening the instant she learned of it once her visits to Gotham became more frequent and extended than she originally had planned. She was not using Jackie as much as she was using his business to maintain her cover, but being seen with him even for a few minutes would not hurt. The man was charming, but not full of himself

Jackie had been keeping his eyes open for certain patrons but he was most interested to see if Cindy would indeed make good on her word and show up. he was pleased when he finally spotted her milling about in the crowd. Not that any man would be able to look away while she wore that dress.
He meandered his way over to her, keeping her in his sights as he mingled with the crowd and took in the congratulations of success.
By the time he finally caught up to her Cindy had already finished most of her martini. But Jackie was always prepared.
"Another?" He handed her a fresh drink, one olive. "Glad you could make it. What do you think?"
Re: They call me "Bond."agentslipperNovember 18 2011, 02:22:31 UTC
"JACKIE!" She grinned and accepted the drink. She gave a smile then took a sip.
"Very New Gotham. It's bright. Like Hollywood, only less tacky. Also, less...Well, more inviting than Vegas. I approve of your designer. It is far to easy to over do the Chinese motif, but this seems well balanced. Are those statues of Guanyin authentic antiques?"
Re: They call me "Bond."jackieestacadoNovember 18 2011, 02:30:25 UTC
"Thanks." After she took the drink his hand returned to his pocket and he adopted an easy stance. "Glad you approve. I never much cared for Vegas. Neon lights..." Did Cindy just see him shudder? He looked at the pillars and pressed his hand against one as he regarded the statues she was so curious about. "Would you think less of me if I said no?"
