Cindy had a difficult upbringing.  Her father was incarcerated and her mother had substance abuse issues.  When her sister, who is three years older, graduated from high school; Cindy was basically left to her own devices.  So finishing high school was not even a thought when she could run wild with friends and party.

Ugh, terrible! (Not the writing but the subject)

I have a few people in my life like Cindy and they are tough to handle - but sometimes your feelings for and connection with someone override your logical brain screaming at you to distance yourself as much as possible. It's a hard situation to be in.

Unfortunately, the story seems very familiar. A certain type of person is always ready to use others.

Family ties matter, but yes, there definitely was a pattern. I hope this is fiction. Poor Cindy!

I know someone who pulled this. Enough $ to go to DisneyWorld but not enough for “regular” life and wanted me to help subsidize. Nope.
