Not-quite 2,000 words. This was a scene that got snipped from the last part of Catalysis, because I ended up writing the same scene very, very differently. But it's been sitting orphaned and unloved on my drive for a month, so I thought I'd take it out and polish it shiny. I suppose... PG-13 for boykissing and extremely casual states of dress?

Somehow, while it was happening, it hadn’t seemed strange at all that Rodney would be the one to kiss him first. )

I love this. Rodney being contemplative and actually getting people and John getting Rodney. Your use of language is fantastic at painting pictures. I don't usually see images of what's going on when I read but with this story I do.

Oh, I'm so glad there are pictures. I always find that tricky. Thanks. :)

Ooh, I like this. I can totally buy Rodney spending his youth trying to learn how to understand people.

I thought this was very, very good! Classic Rodney, true to his character. And it actually gave me a thinky thought or two, so thank you for that.

Oh, BOYS!

This is beautiful. Contemplative Rodney. John, who's ready to run from his feelings at a moment's notice, but who *listens* to Rodney because he's learned that what Rodney says isn't always right, but it's important.

Excellent!

John likes being the person who can translate Rodney-babble into words, I think. :) Thanks.
