Still in love...with John/Rodney: Posting Guidelines

Feb 29, 2012 00:21

It's almost time for the "Still in love...with John/Rodney" fest :)

For the most part, you can post your contribution like any other McSheplet. I've summarized the guidelines here:

I think the other poster on the 13th had to drop out? I've done art but I'll see if I can also manage a short fic, linked to the art.

Yes, though we had a late sign-up for that day.

That's great. I've put you down for art + fic, though if you don't manage the accompanying fic that is fine too. I'm just trying to make sure that we have something posted every day.

Thank you!

Rambling long question is rambling and long

So! I have 13000 words in a fic that I think might end up being around 40000 ish. I don't know if I can finish it by MArch 15, but I'm sure as hell going to try!

But if I'm not going to finish by March 15, what I'm wondering is this:

Should I try to whip up a smaller piece instead, or would it be okay to post part 1/2 of a WIP?
I could probably write some PWP if I don't finish teh long one and post a one shot, but I'd rather devote all my time to the WIP. but I COMPLETELY understand if you don't want WIP posted.

Advice?

Wow, that's going to be one fic!

I'd prefer it if you could post the complete fic, though I understand not wanting to stop working on it to write something else. Would it help you if I moved your posting date further back to the end of the month? Do you think you can finish it by the 31st?

Truthfully, I've never asked for an extension for anything in my life and I feel really weird about it! I was going to be okay with my time management until my Saturday's got scooped up by my old job.

As I said, I'm still going to push for the 15th - I do well with deadlines and find their 'looming-ness' helpful for motivation! I definitely need to finish it by the end of March. I've got other projects in the fire! lol.

my brain is all over the place. *scrambles thoughts*

If it's okay with you, I'd like to take you up on the offer of March 31s (or just later in the month - I probably could do it by the 22nd).

I really appreciate it and I'm sorry for the short notice!

Yes, I know how deadlines help with finishing something. Without them I'd never get anything done (or post it).

If you're still pushing for the 15th, why don't we leave that day, but with the flexible option to push it further back (if need be to the 31st). I have a few unposted fics and wanted to do some sketches during my vacation, so it should be no problem for me to post something on the 15th.

Just let me know when you notice you won't make it for the 15th, so that I can do a post on that day, and then you can post whenever you're ready.

I've started a couple of things, none of which will be finished by today, except for the one that stubbornly insisted on remaining a drabble. Would Wednesday be okay for me to post whichever ends up finished first. I see from the comments someone else has moved to the 19th - whew!

I've moved your date to the 21st :) And a drabble is perfectly okay. Don't worry about it.

Hi!

So, I've posted my fic, but I don't have an author tag. Would it be possible to get one?
