Well, I goofed. I was supposed to post my replies to the interview questions yesterday, but, well, I started work on Tuesday, so I was basically a day off all week and thought yesterday was Thursday. *facepalm*
So here it is, hope you can all find it in your hearts (go Team Romance!) to forgive me for such egregious delinquency. XD
1. How long have you been writing fan fiction?
Since sophomore year of high school so...wow, about six seven years now.
2. Have you participated in any other fandoms?
Harry Potter is my first and eternal love. I don't write fan fic for it anymore (wanna talk drama, try checking out that fandom *rolls eyes*), but I'm still a devoted fan girl.
3. What do you enjoy most about SGA and/or SGA fandom?
SGA is fun, and easy to write for. This was the fandom that introduced me to the wonderful '5 Things' meme, which spawned a whole lot of fics for me. Plus, this fandom is just tailor made for AUs, and all the AUs that have come out of it are just wonderful. The characters stay the characters, no matter what world they're in. That's not so easy to do in other fandoms.
I'd never written fic for a TV show before - in fact, coming from HP, I couldn't imagine writing in a world where the canon changed every week. My fandom got turned upside down every few years, and that was traumatic enough! But I actually love it. It's comfortable, and generally our preconceived notions about characters aren't completely thrown aside. Plus, when you're writing an AU, it doesn't matter. :)
4. Why did you choose to join Team Angst/Team Romance?
Well, lately I've been writing a lot of angsty fics (albeit with happy - or at least hopeful - endings) and I really wanted to write something lighter that wasn't about all the stuff John and Rodney had to overcome to be together, but just about them being them and falling in love.
5. Where can interested readers find more of your work?
All my SGA fic can either be found at my fic journal
atlantis_chat or through the mckay_sheppard community and
my author tag. Most of my Harry Potter fic is on FictionAlley under the names Diricawl or Sarra Collan, and we shall not speak of the drek that is on fanfiction.net.
As a sort of post script, I've started on my challenge, and it's a little slow going. I've gone through about three plots before deciding to stick this one out. Is anyone else having this problem? I feel like every time I sign up for a challenge, or suggest a prompt that someone else urges me to write, that's when I can't write it. Does that make sense? If something just comes to me and I write it down, usually that's when I get the best results. Though I will say that despite how much I struggled with my PeterPan!AU, I'm still pretty proud of the end story.
Ooh, and like Cypher, I'm in California where, in my neck of the woods, it's frakking hot.
