Whew. A tough read and an interesting take on "peace" here. Can't help but think of Michael's creatures and wonder if there's a connection...zombies are my own personal bugaboo--would rather fight off Wraith any day, so I found this especially chilling! Fascinating concept--I can only hope that Jeannie is safe with her family on Atlantis and that the city got away...

I think you should write the sequel, you know? Cause I am never going to do it. *g* I knew that I was stretching the 'peace' concept, by framing the story in peacetime, ten years after the war, but having them talk about the war related events--but it was so much fun to do that way! And yes, Jeannie is safe, I'm sure of it. They'll find out more once their caravan of mountain bikes reaches Colorado.

I am not familiar with World War Z but I still enjoyed this story a lot. I like the interview-like style of this story. The whole zombie thing is very worrying. D: Despite the situation, the closeness between John and Rodney still comes through very clearly. :)

Yay! Oh, I am so glad. I was worried because I was writing such a g-rated slash story, if you ignored the violence and zombie mayham. *g* Thanks!

Interview format worked well here . . . I don't know the fusion source, though I've noticed a lot of zombie books in the stores these past months.

The interview format comes from World War Z, which is a wonderful book set up as a whole bunch of interviews with the survivors of the zombie wars. It's fascinating and fun, and you have to put the pieces together to get the full picture of what was going on, but it is an absorbing read. Thanks!
