Hee! You went there! I wish I could remember the trigger point -- maybe towards the beginning when they're still wondering about how they can't remember much -- or maybe later -- but at some point as I was reading, I started thinking about doing a story where John and Rodney turned out to be clones and not the real John and Rodney, but they didn't know it, a la Philip K. Dick. And then it came true! And then it kept going! Fabulous.

Thanks! I've never seen that ep--I've only watched SG-1 sporadically, but now I'll have to check it out. I know the idea's not a new one, but I'm glad to hear it worked here :)
