SING chart movement part 2

Feb 17, 2011 13:25

I thought I’d post an additional follow-up to my monitoring of SING as the edits on the previous post got more than slightly ridiculous, we’ve got additional charting information and people seemed to like the last post.

Billboard has updated their charts and there’s some pretty cool movement going on.

Awesome! Good to hear, since the singles so far haven't been too successful here in the States.

Rock music typically does not do very well in terms of charting and radio unless you get really blown up and even then you'll never be as big as the pop acts. My Chemical Romance is actually one of the only established rock bands in the US with a lot of notoriety without being like...Bon Jovi or U2. Music in America is VERY segregated.

It's a struggle but I wouldn't worry for them, they do quite well for themselves :)

I firmly believe My Chemical Romance is the Bon Jovi of this generation. They are a huge, epic rock band that will never be able to break out of the shell from where they came from (Bon Jovi will always be remembered as a "hair metal" band even though they have evolved far beyond that since, and MCR will forever be associated with that "E-word" scene).

(Bon Jovi and MCR are 2 of my all-time favorite bands).

I check this site out every once in awhile to see what songs are being played on which radio station and how the song is charting on each station. For example SING is #3 on KPNT today :-)
